It's been a little over a year since myself and some friends started this project and it has taken many twists and turns along the way.
To run a server takes more than just great code and good ideas, it takes a team of dedicated people who share the same goals and desires. When I first started this project that team was in place, today however that team has long since gone and I have done little to replace it as I am a programmer, not a human resources director.
It is hard to make others share your vision when they are not the ones who put in the hours and time it takes to bring something like this to the players day in and day out. That said I have come to the painful conclusion that I cannot continue to provide an environment that I would play in, so why should I expect you to play in it?
All of this code will not go to waste however as I will be turning it over to a crew of players who want to continue this project in a new form and new direction. I wish them all the best and they know they have my support in whatever capacity I can offer.
I could take the time to list out names and do shout out's to all the great people that came through here over the last year but that's so 1995. I will say that I value the time I had with each and everyone of you and hope to see you in a game soon.
To quote a famous line "Parting is such sweet sorrow", and indeed it is. I will miss this place and I will miss UOWOW.
